Mission Description
Based in Mombasa and reporting to Regional Projects & Technical Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas:
Yard Operations
• Plan and manage cargo receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch.
• Oversee yard layout, traffic flow, and equipment allocation.
• Coordinate with transport, maintenance, and security teams for smooth operations.
2. Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)
• Enforce compliance with ISO, OSHA, IOGP, and API standards.
• Manage high-risk operations (e.g., lifting, hazardous materials) with proper PTWs.
• Lead safety meetings, audits, and emergency response drills.
3. Oil & Gas Cargo Handling
• Lead handling of oil & gas equipment, pipes, and hazardous cargo.
• Ensure compliance with IOGP and API pipe handling standards.
• Work closely with project and engineering teams for specialized logistics.
4. Team Management
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (operators, riggers, supervisors).
• Implement shift schedules, KPIs, and performance evaluations.
• Promote a safety-first, inclusive culture.
5. Equipment Oversight
• Manage and inspect yard equipment (forklifts, cranes, reach stackers).
• Ensure maintenance schedules are followed to avoid downtime.
6. Digital Systems & Reporting
• Use Yard Management Systems (YMS), digital PTW tools, and cargo tracking platforms.
• Monitor performance via dashboards and ensure paperless processes.
7. Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with internal teams, customers, regulatory bodies (e.g., KRA, KPA), and contractors.
• Support audits, inspections, and customer site visits.
8. Sustainability
• Implement waste reduction, energy-efficient practices, and carbon-reduction initiatives.
• Support company green logistics goals.

Education:
Bachelors in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years in yard, terminal, or heavy logistics operations.
Minimum 3 years in leadership roles.
Mandatory: Experience handling oil & gas cargo or OOG/heavy-lift logistics.
