Mission Description
Part of the Projects Department, the Logistics Solutions Manager - Oil & Gas leads the design, development and deployment of integrated logistics solutions for clients in the oil and gas sector. The role covers the full project lifecycle.
Design logistics solutions built for execution
• Translate the requirements of the oil companies into integrated logistics solutions.
• Lead feasibility studies, design end-to-end logistics schemes and material flows.
• Conduct site assessments and field missions
• Prepare Logistics Execution Plans, SOPs, Method Statements and technical documentation.
• Identify operational, financial, regulatory and HSE risks and recommend practical control measures.
Design and optimise Shore Base operations
• Size warehouses, pipeyards, workshops, laydown and marshalling areas.
• Design receiving, inspection, storage, preparation, loadout and backload flows.
• Define processes for drilling equipment, OCTG, chemicals and sensitive cargo.
• Select suitable lifting, cargo-handling and specialised transport equipment.
• Design Platform Supply Vessel loading and unloading operations.
• Coordinate port, marine, road and offshore interfaces.
• Contribute to lifting, handling, storage and operational HSE plans.
Build the mobilisation strategy
• Define requirements for operational personnel, supervision, QHSE and support functions.
• Determine the infrastructure, equipment and specialist resources required.
• Assess whether resources should be mobilised internally, purchased, leased or subcontracted.
• Prepare personnel and equipment mobilisation plans.
Develop competitive and financially sound solutions
• Build CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.
• Contribute to financial models and business plans.
• Assess cost, productivity and profitability scenarios.
• Support pricing strategy development and challenge operational assumptions.
• Provide technical support during client negotiations.
Lead the technical tender response
• Lead the preparation of the technical proposal.
• Coordinate inputs from project, operations, QHSE, legal and finance teams.
• Ensure alignment between the proposed solution, contractual commitments and financial assumptions.
• Prepare the technical deliverables required by the client.
• Participate in tender clarifications, presentations and commercial defence meetings.
Drive implementation and operational readiness
• Develop the implementation plan, schedule, governance structure and RACI.
• Coordinate the deployment of facilities, equipment, people and operational resources.
• Lead operational readiness reviews.
• Verify that procedures, controls and HSE standards are fully implemented.
• Manage a structured handover to the operating teams.
Support start-up and operational ramp-up
• Support local teams during start-up and ramp-up.
• Monitor operational, financial and HSE KPIs.
• Contribute to client performance reviews.
Profile
Experience
• Master's degree or equivalent in engineering, logistics, supply chain, transport, industrial engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in oil and gas logistics.
• Proven experience in the design and operation of Shore Bases.
• Experience supporting offshore drilling campaigns and their related logistics.
• Knowledge of port and marine operations and supply vessels (PSV/OSV).
• Experience in project development, feasibility studies and tenders.
• Experience in Africa is a significant advantage.
