Mission Description
Purpose:
• To support the business by assisting to secure new accounts, retaining current customers through the identification of their needs, assisting in the execution of these needs and acting as a bridge between commercial ( Sales Executives/KAM/Estimates) and Operations Teams
• Protect and grow identified accounts as allocated by the business
• Ensure Customer Satisfaction ( KPI Reports in place to ensure mutual ( Client
& BALSA) agreement on expectations
• Grow BALSA Market Share and Meet identified Budget Gross margin
Objectives
• Increase BALSA visibility through Marketing initiatives
• To support the business in ensuring that candidates that go into operations have a deepened and enhanced knowledge of BALSA, skills and effectiveness especially in the administrative tasks associated with the job
Job Function:
• Customer Relationship Management - support with and attend meetings when
required - independently and with Sales if necessary
• Assist by receiving, handling and solutioning queries and enquiries from
prospects and clients
• Compile and Maintain rates for the BALSA Client List
• Compile and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and SLAs for
the BALSA Client List - prospective and current
• Distribute SOPs to relevant stakeholders
• Design, Implement, maintain and present KPI dashboards monthly for
identified/nominated accounts
• Handle resolution of complaints through further investigation with concerned
parties and close those queries within a stipulated timeframe
• Investigate and resolve Credit Note Queries
• Negotiate rates and support compilation of estimates to be submitted
timeously within given timelines by the client

• Assist in responding to Tenders through compilation of Tender Pack
documents
• Checking the Government Tender Board System for RFQs
• Assist in compiling information/data for presentations and brochures
• Meet the annual budgets set per client, per activity, per mode
• Attend Conferences & Exhibitions to secure new cargo for BALSA
• Create reports from the CRM System and from the Quotation System for
strategy purposes
• Assist in the procurement process of strong suppliers who meet BALSA requirements eg Service Levels, BBBEE, specific services like warehousing certification etc
• Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, print and social media in conjunction with the Marketing Department
• Assist in writing monthly thought leadership pieces on actual projects, general market developments, initiatives that BALSA has taken
• Support the planning and execution of events, trade shows and product launches in conjunction with the marketing department
• Support in the planning and visits of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) requirements
• Assist in Market research and competitor analysis for strategy development
• Substitute and Support Operations temporarily as required eg absence of controller, invoicing etc
• Give a month-long training for each new staff member going into operations on tools (Pegasus - opening of files, updating events, usage of Carlo for pick up instructions etc), best practice eg invoicing KPI, Daily client tracking ( 2ce a day) , usage of correct BALSA documents ie BALSA endorse stationery - clearing instructions, letterheads, pick up instructions etc - This training function will be extended to other systems once you are familiar with them eg CRM, Quotation, GTS-Cargowise
• Any other customer support, account management and marketing requirement
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Matric
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Finance or related
discipline is preferred
• 5 years of industry related experience
• Knowledge: Must be able to offer end-to end supply chain solutions
