Mission Description
Job Purpose
The IT Manager (Network & Infrastructure) is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing management of AGL's IT infrastructure, network systems, and employee support services. This is a hands-on leadership role, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of IT systems across the business, while aligning technology solutions with operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Infrastructure Management – Design, implement, and maintain IT networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN), servers (Windows/Linux), firewalls, telecommunications, and data backup systems.
Security & Compliance – Ensure network security, data protection, licensing compliance, and disaster recovery readiness; adhere to ITIL, ISO, and company IT standards.
IT Projects & Innovation – Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades, and integration of new technologies. Provide cost-effective, scalable solutions that improve business performance.
End-User IT Support – Oversee helpdesk services, including new device setup, user account creation, email management, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Collaboration & Business Support – Work with operations teams to deliver IT solutions supporting WMS, TMS, and other business applications.
Leadership & Team Development – Lead and mentor IT staff, assign priorities, and develop technical skills within the team.
Vendor & Budget Management – Manage IT vendors, review contracts and SLAs, and control IT infrastructure budgets.
Profile
Experience: 5–7+ years in IT management, network engineering, or infrastructure roles, with proven leadership and project management experience.
Technical Skills: LAN/WAN, routing & switching, VPNs, firewalls, server & virtualization management, cloud services (Azure/VMware), cybersecurity best practices.
Qualifications: Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent; certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, or ITIL preferred.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, business acumen, and ability to work independently in a dynamic operational environment.
Added Advantage: Knowledge of IT operations in African markets and experience supporting WMS/TMS systems in logistics and transportation environments.
