Mission description
Job Summary:
The Cost Financial Controller is responsible for managing the cost structure of the organization, ensuring financial efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making. The role includes monthly waste reporting, capital expenditure (Capex) tracking, SLA reviews, and selected general financial controller duties such as monthly HQ and Eteni reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management & Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze actual costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis for departments, projects, or specific activities.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain cost control systems and financial models.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic planning.
Monthly Waste Reporting:
- Track and report on material, time, and process waste across departments.
- Analyze waste trends and their financial impact.
- Collaborate with operations and sustainability teams to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Present monthly waste reports to senior management with actionable insights.
Capex Reporting:
- Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets.
- Ensure Capex projects are tracked, reported, and aligned with financial plans.
- Provide monthly Capex reports and variance analysis to management.
Profile
SLA Reviewing:
- Review and assess financial aspects of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure SLA terms are financially viable and adhered to.
- Collaborate with operations and legal teams to update or renegotiate SLAs as needed.
General Financial Controller Duties (Partial):
- Prepare and submit monthly HQ financial reports.
- Compile and deliver monthly Eteni reporting packages.
- Support internal and external audits by providing relevant cost and financial data.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Contribute to cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Reporting:
- Generate periodic financial reports, including cost performance and variance reports.
- Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, operations, and project teams to align financial goals.
- Assist in supplier evaluations and contract negotiations from a cost perspective.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CIMA/CA(SA) preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or management accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in waste reporting, Capex tracking, and SLA management is a plus.
- Familiarity with monthly financial reporting and compliance practices.
