Mission Description                      

Job Purpose:
The Corridor Exports Controller is responsible for managing and coordinating all export shipments moving through the Namibian corridors. The role ensures full customs compliance, accurate documentation, and seamless cargo movement from origin through to the final border. The controller acts as the central point of communication between clients, transporters, customs officials, and internal teams.
Job Function & Responsibilities:
Corridor Export Coordination
• Coordinate end-to-end export processes for all corridor movements.
• Manage export bookings for road transport and ensure timely dispatch of trucks.
• Ensure cargo readiness and confirm loading plans with warehouse and transport teams.
• Monitor truck movements along the corridor and ensure efficient border-crossing procedures.
Customs & Border Compliance
• Prepare, process, and verify all export documentation required for corridor movements (SAD500, customs road manifests, permits, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with NamRA export regulations and SADC/COMESA requirements.
• Liaise with customs officials and border agencies to address queries and stop-orders.
• Work closely with clearing partners at regional borders to ensure smooth clearance.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
• Act as the primary contact for clients regarding corridor export shipments.
• Provide regular updates on shipment status, truck movement, border progress, and any delays.
• Respond to client queries professionally and timeously.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, port authorities, hauliers, and other logistics stakeholders.
Operations Coordination
• Liaise with transporters to confirm vehicle availability, transit times, and loading slots.
• Track and trace trucks throughout the corridor using GPS, transporter systems, or manual updates.
• Escalate delays at borders, weighbridges, or roadblocks and propose solutions.
• Ensure that trucks depart with full and correct documentation.
Administration & Reporting
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal logistics systems.
• Prepare daily/weekly corridor reports (dispatch status, border delays, outstanding documents, etc.).
• File and archive export documentation for audits and internal controls
• Reconcile pod (Proof of Delivery) and documents received from clearing partners.

 

Profile

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Grade 12 (essential).
• Certificate or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Trade (advantageous).
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in export operations (Sea, Air, or Road).
• Experience with Namibian customs procedures and the ASYCUDA/ASYCUDA World system.
• Experience working with shipping lines, carriers, and transporters in Namibia
• Strong understanding of export documentation and customs practices.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of port processes at Namport (advantageous).
