Mission description
Job Purpose:
To efficiently monitor and manage the company's Customs risk exposure relating to the warehousing of bonded goods.
Job Function:
Warehouse Acceptance Letters (Estimated 250 to 350 letters p/m)
• Done timeously in order not to delay the submission of Customs declarations
and trucks crossing the border.
• To be managed as to escalate the non-receipt of goods that was destined for
the bond stores.
Acquittals (To be supplied within 21 days of BOE date)
• Check, stamp, sign GRN's (WE / WH) and GDN's (XE etc), DA187 Manifests
• Check B.O.E, complete and sign SAD505 and ensure Transporter has
competed their section
• Original Acquittals to be batched and sent to relevant agents weekly to avoid
penalties.
Capturing of external bonded entries (Estimated +- 500 Border entries p/m)
• B.O.E to be captured onto Cargo Wise system for all bonded entries done by
3rd party agents within 24 hours of receipt.
AGL Clearances:
• Ensure all clearances are reflecting on Cargo Wise bonded system and if not,
link the clearance to the bond register and advise Customs Supervisor of same.
Excel / Manual Register:
• Manual register to be kept in excel until Cargo Wise bond store system is
100% functional and allows for adding GRN's & GDN's for record purposes and
monitoring the balances.
• Bond Store reports to be pulled reflecting all clients' cargo in bond and view
the file references, Customer names etc.

Documents and Filing
• Hard copy documents to be printed, filed and provided to Customs on request (i.e. – SAD, Release, Work Sheet, Clearing Instruction, Invoice, packing list, TPT document, Acquittal, GRN and GDN's, Balance sheet and all related BOE's such as the ex-bond, change of ownership etc.
General Duties
• Checking the physical cargo on receipt and dispatch against the Released
BOE and supporting documents
• Requesting for adjustments in the cases where errors were made /
inconsistencies found
• Refuse the acceptance or release of goods that were incorrectly declared until
such time as adjustments have been made and released by Customs.
• Ensuring the cargo is placed in the allocated areas as per the Customs Bond
store area floor plans
• Ensuring the cargo bond / surety totals do not exceed the allowable limit as
per the surety lodged per bond store
• Monitoring of the expiration dates of bonded cargo and placing clients on
notice for the payment of duty and VAT or assisting with extension letters if
required and approved by management.
• Undertaking periodic stock-takes on bonded goods to identify losses or
surpluses against bond store registers
• Ensuring the cargo is labelled and contains the required information for
Customs to identify the goods and balance of the stock on the floor.
• Assisting with the destruction or abandonment of bonded cargo to the SWH.
• Assisting with Ad-Hoc application to be made with the Dept. of Customs and
Excise.
