Mission Description
Job Title: Transport Coordinator
Reports to: Transport & Workshop Manager
Location: Plot M-611, Ntinda Road, Kampala
Job Purpose and Main Missions:
Ensure efficient and timely operation of trucks, overseeing all aspects of transportation management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Truck Management:
- Monitor truck status and report daily to the Transport Manager
- Prepare workshop sheets and conduct pre-trip checks
- Track fleet movement and submit reports to stakeholders
- Coordinate loading documentation and truck movement
2. Journey Management:
- Plan and monitor journeys
- Prepare daily trucking reports
- Collaborate with HSSEQ on route safety assessments
3. Driver Management:
- Liaise with drivers on delivery timelines and performance
- Ensure driver compliance with KPIs and safety protocols
- Schedule weekly toolbox talks and driver appraisals
4. Transport Statistics:
- Monitor truck utilization and fuel consumption
- Provide monthly reports on statistics
Profile
Required Skills:
1. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Transport and Logistics Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering
2. Special Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Proficiency in MS-Excel and data analysis
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor or management.
2. Collaborate with departments to ensure seamless operations.
