Mission Description
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the organisation's accounting and financial control functions, ensuring the accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information in compliance with statutory, tax, and company requirements. The role is responsible for overseeing month-end and year-end processes, taxation, treasury, creditor management, budgeting, audits, and financial reporting, while providing strategic financial insights and operational support to management to ensure effective financial governance, risk management, and business performance.
Job Function:
Manage the following tasks:
• Taxation
- Monthly review and submission of VAT returns – AGLSA & Botswana
- Monthly review Vat reasonability reports – AGLSA & Botswana
- Liaise with Tax authorities on all matters
- Preparation Provisional and Final Tax calculations – All cluster entities
- WITHOLDING TAX Submission – Botswana
- Liaise with HQ Tax Director on Tax related matters
- Provide support to e-filing users in the organisation
• Month end procedures
- Finalise gross margin report
- Reconciliation of modules between Pegasus / SUN / ALIS
- Review general ledger, P&L and balance sheet accounts
- Review month end provisions and accruals (including comments)
- Review monthly provisions and accruals, HQ expenses, insurance, guarantees etc.
- Run Revaluation on system
- Balance sheet reporting preparation for Management reporting team
• Creditors and disbursements
- Review and follow up on Creditors age
- Disbursement management including accurate disclosure of reserves
- Resolve operational queries and assist accounts payable department where necessary
- Write off disbursement
• Treasury
- Release EFT payments
- Petty cash recon reviewal
- Perform surprise Petty Cash counts
- Provide support for Cashflow management
• Audit
- Preparation of audit working papers and schedules
- Work closely with Financial Manager and company's external / internal auditors
- Attend to all audit queries
• Budgets
- Management & Preparation of budget working papers and schedules
• Re-invoicing
- Review of workings for re-invoicing various departments.
- Review various re-invoicing including quarterly regional re-invoicing
• Reporting
- Forex reporting
- Asset Depreciation reporting
- Preparation of Risk and reserve reporting
- Resolving Financial Control queries based on both operation and Expense creditors
- BBBEE Reporting
- Payroll recon
• Annual Financial Statements
- Preparation of annual financial statements for all cluster entities
• General
- Loan calculation schedule and invoicing
- Match audit report on Countries
- Debtor book review and follow up with Management
- Analysis of various accounting aspect as and when needed by CFO
• Leadership
- Strong leadership acumen
- Experience leading large teams
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Strong and effective communication skills
Profile
Minimum Requirements: State educational and experience requirements
• BCom (Accounting) Degree
• Certified Chartered Accountant is preferred
• CIMA being completed – Operational level and or Managerial level is preferred

• Proficient knowledge of Excel - complex functions, graphs, and pivot charts
