Mission Description
Job Purpose
The yard Foreman is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the yard operations
Job Function
• Supervises daily yard operations.
• Ensures accuracy of goods/products allocations for respective yard or warehouses
• Oversees safety and security of goods in yard & warehouse
• Quality checks and inspection of in/outcoming cargo
• To assist coordinating loading and off-loading of products
• Assist with operations shift planning
• Quality checks gate passes and delivery notes on arrival and release of cargo
• Inspection of containers in yard when required
• ISO / QHSE compliance
• Ensures effective turnaround time
• Monitoring and control of stocks
• Check tally sheets on direct loadings in yard or at client site where relevant
• Report immediately on any discrepancies or accidents
• Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager
• Performing and attending any other duties assigned by the head of department
• The position is required to work overtime and on a shift system when required.
Profile
Minimum Education and Experience
• Grade 12
• 2 years relevant experience in the same or similar position
• Able to work in a high pressured environment
• Logistics & operational planning
• Technical proficiency
