Mission description

Job Purpose:
Supervise and control a team across various job functions to ensure the provision of incoming Goods, Storage, and Dispatch Service to Customers.

Job Function:
• Conduct daily toolbox talks / meetings with team to ensure full alignment of the shift tasks, and any handover from Teams
• Ensure picking is completed accurately and on time, as per picking SOP
• Coordinate pickers to ensure maximum efficiency per SOP
• Ensure QC1 is completed accurately and on time, as per QC1 SOP
• Ensure QC1 staff follow repacking SOP
• Ensure cargo is clean, safely packaged, labelled according to client requirements
• Coordinate dispatch priorities, including but not limited to: HTM, Subcons, Huawei Engineer, any other Third Parties
• Coordinate QC1 to ensure dispatch priorities and timeframes are adhered to
• Coordinate Admin and operational activities to ensure all work in tandem for maximum efficiency
• Tracking of all vehicles in yard for collections – maintain congestion and safety
• Ensure inventory is packed and stored to ensure maximum picking efficiency
• Continuously optimise processes involving picking and QC of stock stored outside (brackets, poles, shelters etc) to ensure maximum efficiency
• Ensure all collections and deliveries are valid on WMS, and receivers have relevant identification and authorisation – do not use POD provided by external parties
• Ensure vehicles are dispatched on time as per SOP timeframes
• Efficient communication to the relevant parties with regards to all deliveries and collections.
• Ensure the correct cargo is collected and or delivered as per SOP
• To be up to date with email alerts from client – to ensure any amendments are actioned in time
• Ensure all POD are signed neatly and correctly, and handed to Admin
• Ensure delivery discrepancies are promptly investigated, together with Loadmaster and QC1, and resolved by close of business
• Ensure QC1 follow SOP, and provide necessary data to resolve delivery discrepancies (photos, POD, s etc)
• Supervise and handle the receiving, offloading and inbounding of all Huawei cargo
• Huawei cargo includes but not limited to: Air, Sea, Local, Transfer, Returns, Missing
• Ensure whole inbound process strictly complies to SOP
• Ensure all staff handling machinery are licenced and adhere to safely regulations
• Immediate reporting of any incidents or accidents to management.
• To manage and encourage employees to optimize their outputs
• To manage relationships to achieve organisational goals and operational efficiency

 

Profile

• Ability to adapt to the clients occasional, reasonable urgent demands and special outbound requirements
• Ensure all special requests from clients are actioned, including but not limited to: TREM cards, Special labels, special shrink-wrapping, special palletization etc
• Constant liaison with all other staff and supervisors in maintaining operational efficiency
• Liaising with client for routine 8S walks and warehouse inspections – weekly, monthly, quarterly
• Rectification and improvement for all faults found during 8S inspection
• Ensure all machinery (MHE) are in good condition, with updated checklists and sufficient fuel/battery charge at beginning of each shift
• Handling of hazardous inventory in line with QHSE requirements
• Maintain the company's Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within the warehouse and yard

General Duties:
• Ensure that all staff reporting to him/her adhere to the operating procedures and KPI's
• Compile daily KPI reports on activities in the respective area.
• Ensure that all staff are sufficiently trained and versed in the operation of the system, scanners and processes as required.
• Supervise manpower requirements and productivity effectively and avoid unnecessary over time.
• Supervision of Dayshift Inventory team for scheduled cycle counts.
• Coordination and check Inventory is critical to ensure alignment on WMS
• Coordination is critical to ensure alignment of tasks between Inbound & Outbound teams
• Ensure effective housekeeping throughout the entire warehouse and surrounding area.
• Ensure all operations are carried out in line with QSHE requirements.
• Maintain staff discipline.
• Optimise workload and staff numbers.
• Ensure staff are developed and mentored accordingly to the agreed plan.
• Ensure that staff with MHE licences remain compliant and adhere to all safety regulations
• Leave plan to be compiled to optimize workload and performance.
• Rotational weekend and public holiday overtime supervisory duties as required by client
• Ensure that the AGL Africa Global Logistics principals are adhered to
• Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties as requirement by management and the client
• Requesting for Po's for Warehouse Suppliers
• Issuing Po's to Warehouse Suppliers
• Ordering Consumables for the Site


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Matric
• 3 – 5 years' experience in supply chain / warehouse or related fields.
• Tertiary education in either logistics or supply chain management would be an advantage.
• WMS (SAP) experience would be an advantage.
• MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word
