Mission description

Job Purpose:

The Security Manager is responsible for the overall strategic planning, implementation, and management of security across all company sites. The role focuses on technology-driven security solutions, contract negotiations, compliance, risk mitigation, and managing high-level security operations. The Security Manager ensures that security measures align with business objectives and drive continuous improvements in security effectiveness and cost efficiency.

Job Function:
1. Security Strategy & Risk Management

• Develop and implement the company's security strategy in alignment with business goals.
• Conduct security risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Establish security policies, procedures, and protocols across all company sites.
• Monitor security threats and trends, advising senior management on proactive security improvements.

2. Security Technology & Systems

• Oversee the implementation and management of security technologies, including:
o CCTV surveillance systems
o Access control systems
o Alarm and perimeter security systems
o GPS tracking and telematics for fleet security
o AI and analytics-driven security monitoring tools
• Evaluate and recommend new security technology investments.
• Ensure security systems are regularly maintained, upgraded, and fully operational.
3. Contract & SLA Management
• Lead contract negotiations with external security service providers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality service.
• Define performance metrics and SLAs for security vendors.
• Monitor vendor compliance and performance, taking corrective actions as needed.

4. Escort Services Management

• Arrange and manage escort services for high-risk cargo and personnel.
• Negotiate agreements with escort service providers, ensuring compliance with legal and operational standards.
• Establish risk assessment criteria to determine when escort services are required.
• Monitor and optimize escort service operations for cost efficiency and effectiveness.

5. Compliance, Audits & Investigations

• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory security standards.
• Oversee internal security audits and external compliance assessments.
• Investigate major security incidents, fraud, theft, or unauthorized access, and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Work with legal teams and law enforcement agencies as necessary.

6. Crisis Management & Business Continuity

• Develop emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for security threats.
• Lead crisis management and coordinate responses to high-risk incidents.
• Conduct security drills and training exercises to enhance preparedness.

7. Budgeting & Cost Control
• Develop and oversee the security budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze security expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Justify security investments based on risk analysis and ROI evaluations.


8. Security Reporting & Executive Liaison

• Provide regular security reports to senior management, detailing risk assessments, incidents, and mitigation strategies.
• Advise executives on security improvements and emerging threats.
• Represent the company in external security forums or industry events.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:
o Degree in Security Management, Risk Management, or a related field
o A relevant certification in security management
o TAPA certification preferred

Experience:

o Minimum 7–10 years of security management experience, preferably in transport, logistics, cross-border operations, or large-scale facilities.
o Proven experience in negotiating and managing security contracts, SLAs, and service providers.
o Strong background in risk assessment, security audits, and compliance with security laws/regulations.
o Experience implementing and managing security technologies, including CCTV, access control, telematics, and AI-driven security solutions.
o Hands-on experience in crisis management, emergency response planning, and incident investigations.
