Mission Description                      

We are seeking a dedicated QHSE Officer to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems within the terminal. The role ensures compliance with legislation, industry standards, and company policies while promoting a safe working environment and minimizing environmental impact.

 

Profile

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety
• Monitor and enforce safety standards and safe work practices in terminal operations.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks and training.

Environmental Management
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Conduct environmental risk assessments and support EMP development.
• Monitor environmental aspects such as stormwater, emissions, and noise.
• Support emergency response planning for environmental incidents.

Compliance & Reporting
• Maintain QHSE documentation in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Maintain legal and regulatory reporting records.
• Assist QHSE Manager with reporting and objectives tracking.
Training & Communication
• Assist with safety and environmental training programs.
• Monitor refresher training and appointment letters.
• Support Behavioural Based Safety initiatives.
• Liaise with port authorities and regulatory bodies.

Document Management & Systems
• Maintain Document Management System (DMS) and records.
• Monitor and report on IAFs and corrective actions.

Minimum Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Health, Safety, Environment or related field.
• 3–5 years' QHSE experience in logistics, port or maritime sector.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Certified Internal Auditor (preferred).
• Experience in incident investigation techniques (ICAM, TapRoot).
• Strong administration and reporting skills.
