Mission Description                      

Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Quality, Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) systems across our logistics, warehousing, transport and port terminal operations.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational QHSE leadership, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements, industry standards and customer expectations, while driving a strong safety, quality and environmental culture.

 

Profile

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement and maintain an integrated QHSE Management System aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Lead occupational health and safety risk management across terminal, port, logistics, warehouse, transport and workshop operations.
• Identify and control risks associated with heavy equipment, lifting operations, cargo handling, vehicle and pedestrian movements, hazardous materials, marine activities and contractor operations.
• Manage environmental compliance, pollution prevention, waste management, spill response and sustainability initiatives.
• Drive quality assurance, service performance, customer requirements, corrective actions and continual improvement.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and conduct QHSE audits, inspections, risk assessments, emergency drills and compliance reviews.
• Ensure effective contractor and subcontractor QHSE management.
• Develop and oversee QHSE training, competency and awareness programmes.
• Monitor QHSE performance through relevant leading and lagging indicators and provide management with analysis, trends and improvement recommendations.
• Liaise with port authorities, regulators, customers, contractors, auditors and other relevant stakeholders.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure QHSE is embedded in day-to-day operational decision-making.
• Exercise authority to stop or suspend work where an unacceptable or imminent QHSE risk exists.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality, Engineering, Risk Management or a related field.
• Recognised professional QHSE qualification.
• 5–10 years' relevant QHSE experience, preferably in ports, terminals, logistics, shipping, freight, warehousing, mining, heavy industry or another high-risk environment.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a QHSE management or supervisory role.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing integrated management systems.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Proven experience in risk assessments, audits, inspections, incident investigations and contractor management.
• Strong knowledge of applicable QHSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to operational emergencies.
