Mission Description
Job Purpose:
To coordinate day to day transportation activities, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods while optimizing routes and resources.
Profile
Job Function:
• Ensure vehicles are dispatched on time
• Ensure maximum utilisation of AGL fleet to maximise profitability
• Efficient communication to the relevant parties with regards to deliveries and collections
• Manage all relevant Carlo, Pegasus and data is captured on time
• Ensure the correct cargo is collected and or delivered by the drivers
• Signed PODs is handed in immediately after deliveries and e-mailed through to the correct parties
• Immediate reporting of any incidents or accidents to management
• Ensure hazardous chemical regulations are met when transporting Hazchem products
• Inform all parties when utilising Subcontractors to ensure SOP is met
• To manage relationships to achieve organisational goals
• All files to be registered immediately upon receiving documents / cargo.
• Ensure all documents are completed correctly and ready for dispatch prior to booking a vehicle.
• Book Vehicle/s as per the instruction at the lowest rate possible.
• Tracking of shipments and updating clients, files & tracking reports on every step of the shipment
• Following up with suppliers and obtaining reports and update Internal and external clients
• Stock control of consumables
• Requesting and negotiate rates from Suppliers.
• Ensure staff complies with South African Occupational Health and Safety act regulations and requirements
• Assist with General Admin of the TD Department
• Ensure other tasks and requirements given by Supervisor/Management are adhered to.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Matric
• Minimum 1 years' experience in handling and management of fleet/ transport
• Microsoft knowledge: Excel, Outlook and Word
• Experience in Pegasus is a must
• Learning towards a diploma or degree will be an advantage
