Mission Description                      

Job Title: Journey Management Planner

Reports to: Transport/Workshop Manager

Location: Plot M-611, Ntinda Road, Kampala

Job Purpose:

Manage HSSE elements of road transport to achieve company targets, ensuring compliance with journey management plans, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Journey Management
- Prepare and ensure journey plans for all trips
- Monitor compliance with agreed journey management plans
- Conduct post-journey debriefing of drivers
- Prepare daily trucking reports
2. IVMS (Internal Vehicle Monitoring System)
- Liaise with service providers to ensure accurate functionality
- Monitor trucks and report driver IVMS violations
- Manage IVMS compliance data for trucks and drivers
3. Transport HSSE
- Schedule weekly driver toolbox talks
- Ensure drivers and trucks are fit for journeys
- Provide data input for driver incentive schemes
- Support incident investigations
4. Transport Statistics
- Analyze IVMS stats (violations, driver fatigue, etc.)
- Track number of toolbox talks per driver per month

 

Profile


Required Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Transport and Logistics Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Road transport safety skills
- Knowledge of transport operations and HSSE management
- Fleet management software skills
