Job description

Electrical, Facilities and Reefer Technician M/F

Mission Description                      

Electrical Facilities & Reefer units Maintenance.
• Ensure identification, monitoring and review of relevant electrical engineering standards, NCA, OSH & Environmental, Energy Act requirements.
• Ensure the implementation of the HSE Policy across all electrical tasks in the organization
• Respond to all departments identified, reported & repair all defaults reported to mitigate hazards of the workplace.
• Baricade, secure and ensure all electrical conduits and pipework are safe and maintained in the operational yard, warehouses & office buildings.
• Regularly inspect and ensure proper housekeeping in the warehouses, yard & offices, electrical control rooms, generators areas.
• Inspect and ensure firefighting equipment is regularly serviced & maintained in place at all electrical fire risk areas/installations.
• Inspect and ensure proper electrical waste management in facility compliant to the environmental act.
• Carry out, Site, HSE and electrical safety induction to all sub-contractors assigned to supervised.
• Ensure major incidents and potential high-risk near misses are reported immediately to the relevant departments and a notification followed within 24 hours.
• Maintain records of all maintenance tasks conducted under your watch.
• Ensure identification, monitoring and review of relevant electrical facilities statutory requirements.
• Develop a schedule of facility building & electrical equipment that require regular maintenance, cleaning or service for all company assets.
• Develop & implement a system for employees to communicate & report repair requests.
• Carry out facility inspections and identify areas that require repair works.
• Raise requisitions for maintenance & repair works for in the facilities under our responsibility.
• Issue PTW & supervise contractors carrying out electrical and reefer facility and other maintenance & repair high risk works.
• Sign-off contractors' work completion certificates as well as progress of work certificates by confirming they are done as per our expected scope and quality standards.
• Water treatment plants security access controls, cctv and alarms, integrity, maintenance, repair and service as per the OEM manuals and best practice.
• Ensure identification, monitoring, review and corrective and preventive actions of relevant electrical audits and statutory requirements.
• Develop a schedule of facility building, electrical team tools & equipment that require regular maintenance.
• Carry out electrical safety inspections and identify areas that require repair works, report them in PROGRESS Platform tool and begin to action them immediately.
• Raise requisitions for maintenance & repair works for the company facilities.
• Issue PTW & supervise contractors carrying out the facility electrical and maintenance & repair works.
• Ensure all departments have identified, communicated & mitigated of electrical hazards at the workplace through awareness creation, toolbox meetings

 

Profile

1. Diploma in Electrical Engineering and other equivalent certificates from a recognized professional technical institution.
2. Valid and current licensed electrical worker in Kenya by EPRA .
3. Knowledge of CCTV, AC/Reefer container units, generators, Solar power, fire alarms and security systems, or safety training and experience will be an added advantage.
4. Basic knowledge of civil construction & plumbing works, water filtration and treatment systems
