Mission description

Job Purpose:
• Ensure all policies and procedures relevant to insurance and claims processes distributed by the Cluster Legal Manager are implemented and complied with by all AGL companies within the SA Cluster.
• Support the Cluster Country Managers with all Insurance & Claims matters.
• Manage, guidance and support the Cluster Country Managers concerning all insurance and claims matters.

Job Function:
• Insurance & Claims
 Ensure all relevant insurance covers of all AGL companies within the SA Cluster are procured (as and when required) and timely renewal (at least annually).
 Ensure all important policy terms are communicated to the Cluster Country Managers.
 Ensure all AGL company asset claims, customer cargo claims, 3rd party claims, liability claims etc. are properly and timely reported, managed and closed out.
- Receive claim notification reports (CNR) regarding potential and/or actual claims;
- Review the CNR for completeness and accuracy, and request additional information if required;
- Register the claim, open a claim file and allocate a claim receipt number (CRN);
- Notify the relevant insurers of the incident/potential claim without delay;
- Request the relevant operations to complete and return the relevant claim form;
- Review the claim form for completeness and accuracy, and submit to the relevant insurers;
- Guide the relevant operations as to how the claim should be handled (i.e. acknowledge receipt of claim from client / notify client of incident, place all relevant parties on notice, etc.);
- File all correspondence pertaining to each claim in accordance with the agreed filing system (electronically on the legal drive).
 Liaise with the relevant insurers and operations up to conclusion of each (potential) claim.
 Ensure an accurate and up-to-date insurance register is maintained for each AGL company within the SA Cluster.
 Maintain an accurate and comprehensive claims register for each AGL company within the SA Cluster.
 Draw stats and prepare presentations as and when required by the Cluster CFO, Cluster Legal Manager and/or Regional Legal Manager.
 Liaise with the finance department to ensure appropriate provisions are made.

• General
 Perform any other duties assigned by the Cluster CFO, relevant Country Manager and/or the Cluster Legal Manager.
 Monitoring the Contracts Legal Tracker for completeness, and draw stats and prepare presentations as and when required.
 Answering the phone when a legal colleague is not in the office.
 Booking of meeting rooms.
 Ordering of office stationery.
 Distributing meeting agendas.
 Taking of minutes at scheduled legal meetings.
 Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager
 Assist with the completion of documents

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Grade 12/ Matric
• One of the following legal qualifications: Insurance related qualification.
• 2 years' experience in the insurance & claims field.
• Experience of the Africa continent will be an advantage.
• Computer proficiency: Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
• Good attention to detail.
• Methodical and thorough approach to work.
• Organised.
• Good at juggling tasks and prioritising.
• A desire to show initiative.
• Must be able to offer end-to-end supply chain solutions in clearing and forwarding industry
