Mission Description                      

Cargo Control Supervisor will assume responsibility for the entire process as described in Cargo Control Standard Operating Procedures, including the management of direct reports. Ensure that operating and reporting systems are updated with error free information for every vessel. Maintain control of the “To Come List” with regards to pre-approved late arrivals, granted connections, and exceptions.
Act as communication link between shipping line and vessel planners. Ensure consistency of treatment among shipping clients regarding cargo delivery deadlines and cargo prioritization. Deliver terminal prebilling information, and terminal report to stakeholders.
Main Objectives
• Monitor vessel schedules on daily basis. Prioritize the workload and assign tasks to the cargo control coordinator.
• Screen incoming e-mail messages and print out relevant correspondence for distribution to the appropriate associates. Attend to queries that require an immediate response.
• Follow up with the cargo control clerks on the progress of load-lists. Ensure that the load-lists are finalized 8 hours prior to the vessel ETA. Clarify issues with the shipping lines to mitigate disputes. Ensure Customs requirements are met.
• Investigate and document service failures and report them to the appropriate parties. Respond to inquiries related to Terminal Departure Reports for vessels no longer at berth.
• Interact closely with the vessel planners and shipping lines regarding additional changes after set cut-off time has passed.
• Measure and report the performance versus standards for the terminal and the shipping line with regard to compliance with the terms of the service agreement.
• Perform periodic performance reviews with direct reports. Ensure personal development plan is created, reviewed, and carried out.
• Deliver updated Grated Connection Matrix to all stakeholders.
• Ensure a timely delivery of Terminal Report per vessel call and prepare prebilling file.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required. A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in cargo handling, logistics, or warehouse operations.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role is highly preferred.
• Must be fluent in both written and verbal English.
• Must be fluent with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
