Mission Description                      

White Horse Carriers is seeking a skilled Senior Auto Electrician to join our team at our Brentwood, Johannesburg workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical systems of our large fleet of trucks and trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety, while leading assistant electricians and upholding high-quality standards in line with workshop SOPs.

1) Key Responsibilities
a. Diagnose complex electrical and electronic system issues in Zalawi trucks and trailers using advanced diagnostic tools and expertise
b. Perform repairs on electrical components, including wiring, lighting systems, batteries, alternators, starters, and electronic control units
c. Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent failures and ensure compliance with safety standards
d. Inspect and maintain trailer electrical systems, including braking systems, signal lights, and load-monitoring equipment
e. Assign tasks to assistant auto electricians, provide clear instructions, and ensure their work is completed to the correct standard and in accordance with workshop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
f. Ensure all electrical repairs and maintenance meet safety, industry, and workshop SOP standards, maintaining a high-quality standard across all work performed
g. Document all work performed, including parts used and service records, for accurate fleet maintenance tracking
h. Collaborate with workshop team members to prioritize tasks, mentor junior auto electricians, and maintain efficient workflow
i. Stay updated on the latest automotive electrical technologies, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques to enhance service quality.

2) Reporting and Procedures
a. Ensure jobcard processes are followed
b. Ensure stores/parts handling procedures are followed for the drawing/returning of parts, consumables, lubricants, etc and accountability is maintained according to procedure
c. Liaise closely with and report to the Deputy Technical Manager on all issues of which he should be aware
