Mission Description
The Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Supervisor oversees the operation, maintenance, and management of material handling equipment within a warehouse, distribution centre, or manufacturing facility. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and effective use of equipment to support operational goals, maintain inventory accuracy, and meet production timelines. The MHE Supervisor leads a team of operators and coordinates with outsourced repair vendors to ensure equipment reliability, while enforcing compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Profile
• Equipment Management: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of material handling equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, pallet trucks, and automated systems.
• Team Supervision: Manage, train, and schedule a team of equipment operators to ensure efficient workflows and adherence to safety protocols.
• Outsourced Repair Coordination: Supervise and coordinate with external vendors for equipment repairs, ensuring timely completion, quality of work, and adherence to service agreements.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards by conducting regular safety inspections and training to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to reduce equipment downtime.
• Inventory Support: Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure accurate movement and storage of goods using MHE.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve equipment utilization and operational efficiency, implementing best practices and evaluating new technologies.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, repair invoices, and incident reports.
• Budget Oversight: Monitor and control costs related to equipment maintenance, outsourced repairs, and parts procurement, ensuring alignment
• Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure outsourced repairs meet quality and timeline expectations.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational and vendor performance goals are met.
