Job description

Mission Description                      

Responsible for overseeing and facilitating the efficient movement of goods, materials, and supplies within a company or between suppliers and customers. Their main goal is to ensure that deliveries are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulations.

 

Profile

Job Function:
• Plan and track shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and customers for smooth logistics operations.
• Monitor inventory levels and arrange stock replenishment when needed.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
• Handle documentation, including invoices, shipping documents, and customs clearance.
• Resolve any logistics issues, delays, or discrepancies efficiently.
• Optimize transport routes and cost-saving initiatives.
• Use logistics software to manage and streamline operations.
• Communicate with internal teams to align logistics with business needs.
• Manage the Reach Stacker Driver and Forklift Driver – ensure that daily inspection reports are complete and filed
• Maintenance of the Reach Stacker and Forklift (services and overall condition to be maintained).

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel / Word / In house programs).
• Seafreight experience gained in a clearing & forwarding environment
• Planning skills
• Participate in programs and assessments to improve IMS system in the workplace.
