Mission Description
Job Purpose:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will provide strategic and operational human resources support to management and employees, ensuring alignment with company policies, objectives, and compliance with Namibian labour laws.
Profile
HR Advisory & Business Partnering:
Act as the first point of contact for HR matters, providing proactive guidance to managers and staff on best practices, employee engagement, performance improvement, and conflict resolution. Oversee onboarding, inductions, and exit processes, ensuring smooth integration and offboarding of employees. Support the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives, while identifying and addressing HR risks and opportunities for improvement.
Labour Relations & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Namibian labour legislation, including the Labour Act, Affirmative Action Act, and industry-specific collective agreements. Provide expert advice on labour relations, employee rights, and legal obligations. Chair and manage disciplinary, incapacity, and grievance processes in line with legal requirements. Liaise with external bodies such as trade unions, the Ministry of Labour, and bargaining councils. Prepare legal opinions and advise on disputes, maintaining records of employee relations statistics and outcomes.
Union & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain constructive relationships with recognized trade unions. Support negotiation of organizational rights agreements and educate managers on applying collective agreements and labour codes. Maintain regular, collaborative communication with union representatives.
Performance, Discipline & Workforce Development:
Conduct job grading and gap analyses aligned with company or collective agreement standards. Support managers in performance management processes, including coaching, counselling, and implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs). Analyze trends to identify training needs and coordinate targeted labour relations or performance-related training. Contribute to HR and employee relations programs aimed at enhancing workforce capability.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning:
Support recruitment processes in alignment with Employment Equity and Affirmative Action plans. Participate in candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding. Liaise with labour brokers and TES providers to ensure compliance and service standards. Advise managers on promotions, transfers, and contract changes.
Systems & General HR Operations:
Assist with Time & Attendance system administration and conduct HR audits and surveys to monitor compliance and employee satisfaction. Handle general HR documentation and provide input into organizational projects and change initiatives.
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) essential; HR Diploma/Degree preferred.
3–5 years' HR generalist or business partnering experience.
In-depth knowledge of Namibian labour law
Experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Port Operations advantageous.
Strong interpersonal, advisory, conflict-resolution, administrative, and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office; able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Valid driver's license and own transport
