Mission Description
He/She will focus on implementing the key financial control functions across the four Namibian entities:
• Managing the timeliness and quality of reporting
• Ensuring reliability and integrity of the accounting information
• In depth cost analysis
• Guaranteeing reporting quality consistency
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Ad hoc presentation to management and head office
Profile
Job Function:
Bearing in mind the growing and moving environment, the key tasks and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to following:
• ACCOUNTING INTEGRITY:
o Ensure quality control over financial reporting
o Implement consistent checks on the accounting processes
o Be a whistle-blower on non-compliant processes – analyse balance sheet risks
o Reviewing operational data and maintaining data accuracy and integrity
o Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
o Preventing errors by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting
• MONTH-END REPORTING – TO HEAD OFFICE
o Ensure timeliness of the reporting
o Reporting on P&L, Analytics, intra-group and Balance Sheet
• MONTH-END REPORTING – TO OPERATIONS AND COUNTRY MANAGEMENT
o Supervise and review reporting to operations and country management along with analysis and variances.
o Promote bridging the gap between operations and finance team
o Implement and follow-up processes
• PFA / BUDGET
o Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget / PFA, financial forecasts and report variances.
• OTHER AD HOC (Business Plans, Investment memo's etc)
• Report to the CFO and MD with timely and accurate financial information.
• Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with HQ
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• BCom in Management Accounting or Accounting completed
• CIMA being completed - 2nd, 3rd year
• Experience as Financial Controller required
• Management experience required
• Proficient knowledge of Excel - complex functions, graphs and pivot charts
• Proactive and organized
• Capacity to deliver under pressure
• Able to challenge the status quo and drive through changes
