Mission Description
A Country Supply Chain Manager report direct to Managing Director and work close with Beira Branch Manager. He is responsible to manage a team and oversee the complete supply chain function from raw material, procurement through to shipping whilst always looking to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost savings. Responsibilities will include leading the sourcing of raw and packaging materials, adjusting supply chain activity according to sales demand, overseeing SAP material planning, negotiating transport contracts, overseeing warehouse and workshop activities, continuous process improvement and ensuring all import/export and permit documentation is in order.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain.
• Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed.
• Provide operational support and guidance to ensure maximum productivity.
• Manage existing Warehousing activities.
• Guarantee Customers satisfaction.
• Participate actively in Warehouse Budget and ensure monthly performance vs. taregets.
• Train and mentor SCM employees.
• Control and oversee day to day activities on warehousing, port operations, workshop and maintenance.
• Ensure all teams are recruited and trained.
• Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.
• Provide clients with accurate stock management report at any time.
• Manage and monitor warehousing KPIs and reporting.
• Control Warehousing Security.
• Plan Container Yard, Warehouse Layouts & Flows.
• Analyse Operational KPIs and follow-up on action plan.
• Manage ISO 9001 QMS, QHSE, with regular updates.
• Implement and manage continuos improvement process.
• Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
• Focus on safety, cost management and business growth in all interactions and directives.
• Prepare and submit weekly reports to COO.
• Optimize warehouse functions and development.
• Handle communications and negotiations with external suppliers.
• Ensure and promote quality in warehouse management.
• Adhere to AGL Business and Ethics Policy and to AGL Policies and Procedures.
• Other duties as per request of Managing Director.
Profile
• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or similar field.
• 8 years' experience in supply chain, logistics or a related field (preferably in Warehousing).
• Commodity Experience (fertilizer is an advantage).
• Experience in Freight Forwarding is an advantage.
• Strong Management skills, Strategic Planning skills, knowledge processes/procedures operations, operations management.
• Highly motivated individual with strong leadership, people and problem-solving skills.
• Good of computer literacy skills.
