Mission Description                      

Job Purpose:
The Commercial Reefer Manager ensure he develops and manages a profitable operation, ensuring best
service delivery with customer satisfaction and strategic growth with the correct partners.
Job Function:
1. Carrier Relations
• Choosing the correct partners to ensure we offer the best possible service with guaranteed space
• Rate negotiations to have the best possible deals to create profitability.
• Communication with Shipping lines about all changes and challenges to ensure customers are always informed.

2. Service Provider Relations
• Ensure partners are chosen with the best possible standards and rates to ensure business continuity.

3. Strategic Development
• Formulate the correct across the global networks
• Implementing strategies of identified opportunities and develop tailormade solutions
• Market analyses are shared with customers to stay ahead of competition

4. Customer Management (Sales)
• Identifying correct customers mix based on profitability and intensity (complexity)
• Build relations and gain trust of the identified customers to offer customized solutions.
• Negotiating best offer for customer and business
• Negotiating service level agreement to ensure optimizations for all parties.
• Business Review are done either Quarterly or Biannually pending on customer requirements

 

Profile

5. Operations Support
• Support operations teams (point of escalation)
• Support Management on any customer related issues and queries
• Ensure forecasting is up to date
• Support operations teams (point of escalation)
• Ensuring customers service levels are supported
• Handling of claims
• Managing of freight related issues

6. Training /Mentorship
• Ensuring and maintaining a highly competent team through ongoing guidance
• Perishable training to international office as to SA methodology and protocols.
• Mentoring Staff to create continuity in business

7. Financial Management
• Pricing is Market Related
• Customer Statements sent are paid and discrepancies cleared
• Customer cost sheets are created according to agreed rates templates
• No overtrading on accounts
• Quotations and Proposals are managed and timeously sent
• Monthly financial statements are reviewed with Operations Manager prior to submission to Management



Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Relevant Tertiary qualification
• Minimum 8 years sales experience in Freight Forwarding with a demonstrated history of achieving strong sales results
• Strong communication, leadership and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationship
