Mission description
OBJECTIVE:
To improve, develop, and manage the Commercial Department of AGL Sudan by ensuring efficient handling of quotation requests, securing new projects, and maintaining consistent commercial and marketing strategies
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Quotation Management:
• Ensure all quotation requests are answered within as soon as possible and in an accurate manner, utilizing prevailing systems and tools.
• Supervise the day-to-day activity of the Pricing, ensuring timely responses to standard and abnormal requests (Heavy Lifts, Projects) in conjunction with respective departments and the Operations Director.
2. Commercial Action Plans:
• Develop commercial action plans in conjunction with management and respective Heads of Departments (HODs).
3. Client Acquisition:
• Secure new clients and traffic through strategic initiatives and relationship building.
• Develop and maintain a strong client network and contacts.
4. Pricing Matrix Development:
• Develop, maintain, and update pricing matrices per activity/department in conjunction with relevant departments.
• Ensure the Pricing systems and tools efficiently and that each Pricing officer is versatile and capable of quoting all traffic/activities/services offered by the company.
5. Marketing Policy:
• Develop and maintain a consistent marketing policy to enhance brand visibility and client engagement.
• Assist in creating marketing tools and support to promote the company's activities.
• Develop and maintain a marketing strategy in conjunction with management.
6. Tender Desk Management:
• Develop and maintain a Tender Desk to manage and streamline tender processes.
• Coordinate the response to tenders, due diligence processes, and vendor/supplier registration processes (other than O&G, Mining, and Industrial Projects).
7. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
• Prepare and formalize specific and relevant SOPs for the Commercial Department in conjunction with QHSE.
8. Client Relationship Management:
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and develop new client relationships to drive business growth.
• Assist in visiting/meeting corporate customers and project clients locally and/or overseas.
9. Market Analysis:
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
10. Sales Forecasting:
• Develop sales forecasts and monitor performance against targets.
11. Reporting:
• Prepare and present regular reports on commercial activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate monthly reporting required by regional and HQ offices.
• Ensure smooth communication between HODs, management, and the Commercial Department, sharing weekly sales/commercial actions and visits with management and concerned HODs.
12. Continuous Improvement:
• Continuously monitor and improve commercial processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
13. Information Gathering:
Profile
EXPERIENCE • Minimum 5 years in a Commercial Executive or Deputy role.
• Experience in Clearing & Forwarding (C&F), Logistics, or Supply Chain sectors preferred.
• Proven track record in client acquisition, pricing strategy, and tender management.
