Mission Description                      

MISSIONS

As Technical Director, you are responsible for ensuring the operational reliability, safety, and performance of all technical assets, including heavy machinery and marine equipment.
You lead the technical function with a hands on, field oriented approach, acting as a reference authority for engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting while empowering technical teams to deliver excellence in demanding operational conditions.

You play a critical role in:
• Maintaining high availability of assets
• Driving technical excellence and cost control
• Adapting solutions to local operational constraints
• Ensuring 24/7 technical readiness in support of business continuity

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and Asset Coverage
• Oversee day to day maintenance operations for heavy machinery and marine equipment.
• Act as Chief Engineer, providing direct technical guidance and decision making support to field teams.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.
• Heavy machinery: MHC (Mobile Harbour Cranes), MC, RS and related port equipment.
• Marine assets: Tugs, Pilot Boats, Service Boats and associated onboard systems.

Leadership & Team Empowerment
• Lead, mentor, and upskill technical teams through hands on involvement.
• Promote autonomy, accountability, and continuous technical improvement.
• Serve as the main escalation point for critical technical incidents.

Procurement & Budget Management
• Manage the procurement of spare parts, tools, and technical services.
• Work closely with Procurement and Finance teams to optimize costs and lead times.
• Anticipate technical needs and ensure availability of critical components.

Autonomy & Availability
• Operate with a high level of independence and ownership.
• Be available to respond to major technical incidents or emergencies.
• Deliver pragmatic, efficient solutions adapted to resource constraints.

 

Profile

PROFILE

Education and Technical Expertise :
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• MSc in Marine Engineering or equivalent highly valued
• Proven experience as:
 Field Service Marine Engineer
 Service Electronic / Electrical Engineer
 Service Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Engineer
• Strong hands on expertise in:
 Mechanical systems
 Electrical and electronic systems
 Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Demonstrated capability to work directly on equipment in operational conditions.

Experience
• 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in technical or engineering roles
• Solid background in marine and heavy machinery environments
• Prior experience in port, logistics, offshore, or industrial operations is a strong advantage
