Mission Description                      

Planning Manager to manage and supervise vessel, yard and berth planning activities with due regard to safety, quality, productivity and optimum use of staff, equipment and space. All to be propelled by a continuous drive, this will assure a truly first class operation.
Critical Success Factors
o Planning that facilitates at minimum a 35 GMPH per quay crane.
o Planning that facilitates an average of 30 minutes truck turn round time.
o Achieve the highest possible berth production, which must at a minimum meet the targets as established in the terminal/shipping line contracts.

Main Objectives
• Manage, motivate and instruct all planning team members. Structure tasks and goals, establish course of action, and set priorities. Execute daily tasks with considerations for high productivity and efficient utilization of equipment and labor.
• Ensure that data quality within the planning systems is maintained and is continuously up to date.
• Maintain and enhance relationships between departments. Promote good business relationships among external/internal customers and vendors.
• Provide regular process control checks and initiate / support performance improvement activities
• Establish and maintain performance criteria for reporting personnel in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
• Manage the training operator program together with the equipment training coordinators.
• Measure and display ‘key performance indicators' as identified by senior management on a regular basis.
• Ensure personal development plans are created, reviewed, and carried out for all subordinates.
• Assist in KPI analysis, process design, process redesign, and implementations of new processes.

• Provide and create a process driven organization, which supports continual process improvement though the optimal design of workflows, organizational structure, and technology.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field is typically required.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in planning, logistics, or supply chain management.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role, with responsibility for overseeing a planning team and managing key operational processes.
• Experience with strategic planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and resource allocation is essential.
• Proven experience with planning software and tools (e.g. forecasting tools).
• Experience in project management, process improvement, and data analysis is preferred.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes and industry best practices.
