Job Title: Costs & Business Controller
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Company Overview: Join our dynamic team in Kampala, Uganda, where we are committed to excellence and innovation. We are seeking a dedicated Costs & Business Controller to support our financial operations and drive business performance.
Job Purpose: The Costs & Business Controller will be responsible for preparing reports in accordance with Group standards, controlling revenues and costs, and analyzing key performance indicators to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and issue timely and complete financial statements, including monthly reports to the Regional Office and Headquarters.
• Support heads of departments in generating their monthly KPIs (Volumes / Files / GM).
• Ensure consistency in monthly activity comments.
• Manage and control country fixed assets, including cost per unit and replacement analysis.
• Download monthly results per cost center from accounting/reporting tools and investigate budget variances.
• Using and populating Group reporting tools (Eteni, Invest, Shuttle, Ichor, Sisyphe, Biap, Iris, etc.).
• Prepare DAC/DAD and ensure proper follow-up of investments.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller on the production of the annual budget, year-end forecast, and monthly estimates.
• Prepare all analyses required by management.

 

Profile

Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree: In finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or any field
• Added Advantage experience in the logistics field

Professional Certifications_ Added Advantage
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA
Skills
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and generate insights
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cost accounting software and financial management systems
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous and rigorous in financial reporting and analysis
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve financial issues effectively
