Mission Description
A. Business Development & Account Management
• Develop and grow Chinese accounts across the Oil & Offshore, Mining, Power, and Infrastructure industries, while providing commercial support to the relevant Vertical Managers (VMs).
• Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within the Chinese business community and industrial sectors.
• Map and maintain a database of EPC contractors, manufacturers, investors, and other key industrial stakeholders operating within the region.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective Chinese clients to drive retention, organic growth, and new business opportunities.
• Define country and market priorities in alignment with the Head of Chinese Accounts Development and the Commercial Management teams of relevant subsidiaries.
• Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of Chinese accounts and business opportunities across relevant industries and VMs.
• Coordinate and supervise the preparation of integrated commercial proposals for clients and prospects.
B. Commercial & Operational Coordination
• Monitor and coordinate the effective execution of projects and operational flows with relevant subsidiaries and operational teams.
• Ensure that operational delivery meets agreed commercial commitments and required service quality standards.
• Ensure the competitiveness, accuracy, and consistency of commercial offers submitted to clients and prospects.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to address operational challenges, client requirements, claims, and other commercial issues.
• Support the alignment of commercial strategies with operational capabilities and business objectives.
C. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
• Prepare monthly activity reports in collaboration with the Head of Chinese Accounts Development.
• Coordinate and contribute to comprehensive quarterly business reviews, covering budgets, volumes, margins, opportunities, and claims.
• Monitor the performance of Chinese accounts and identify opportunities for revenue growth, margin improvement, and increased market penetration.
• Provide regular updates to the Head of Chinese Accounts Development and relevant VM/Industry Directors on business development activities, pipeline progress, and account performance.
• Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and inform commercial strategies.
Profile
The Business Development Manager – Chinese Accounts is responsible for developing and growing the organisation's portfolio of Chinese clients across key industries, including Oil & Offshore, Mining, Power, and Infrastructure. The role focuses on identifying and converting new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with existing Chinese accounts, coordinating commercial proposals, and ensuring seamless alignment between commercial commitments and operational execution.
