Mission description

Job Purpose
IT Infrastructure Engineer - within the discipline of IT service management (ITSM) as defined by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) - main functions are supporting the IT infrastructure in the BUILD and RUN Team at an engineering level called “IT administration”
• Manage operations on a virtualized, distributed infrastructure (provision, configuration, decommissioning, lifecycle, patching),
o Local, Onsite and remote management of 5 IT HUBs across Africa
o Level 1-3 Hardware Support
o Level 1-3 Virtualization, SAN, vSAN Support
• Plan and coordinate remote interventions of maintenance providers,
• Plan and supervise interventions on duty, Non-Working Hours
• Maintain the documentation system, the ITSM tool,
• Apply Group standard policies: Respect of SOP, SLA, Reporting, KPI
• Capacity Planning, ensure optimal use of internal resources, vCPU, Memory, Storage, IP Planning
• Security and risk Aware, Risk Identification and rectification to possible security vulnerabilities
• Reaction to identified Security threats on all platforms, physical and virtual
• Backup monitoring and quick action to rectify and problems identified, Adherence to AGL Backup and BCP DRP strategies.
• Develop, deploy and maintain MS AZURE AD structure, develop best standards policies and SOP
• Develop, deploy and maintain add-on AZURE services such but not limited to InTune and XaaS services.
• Failover Simulation between Main DC HUB and DR Site, Non-Working Hours
• Continuity of service for Operations (hardware and software infrastructure) on the day-to-day:
o Network: Cabling, Switches, Optimizers, Routers, Firewall, Proxy, SSL VPN gateways, WAN, WiFi systems and others equipment UPS, Air-Con, Genset, IoT…
o Systems: Servers (Windows/Linux or iSeries), Data backup means, Business Applications, Communication and collaborative tools…

Deliverables:
IT Hardware resources management:
• Hardware inventory (including IT contracts).
Infrastructure management:
• Projects UAT (User Acceptance Test). Frequency = ONE UAT PER PROJECT
• Contribute in Infrastructure Action plan update.
• Weekly meeting with Africa HUBS Deputy Manager.
• Capacity planning (mainly for telecommunications and hardware but also human resources)

 

Profile

Job Function & Responsibilities

• Ensure an ITIL MIS support process (single point of contact for helpdesk, ITSM ticketing, troubleshooting, logs analyse, reporting, Centreon monitoring) for users in the scope of work.
• Ensure production follow-up on a daily, weekly, monthly basis .
• Manage IT Hardware and Virtual resources (see inventory and capacity planning in deliverables here after)
• Manage IT Infrastructure projects/major change in the state of the art: express of needs from users, planning of implementation (priorities), specifications book, tender, supplier choice, user acceptance test
• Ensure capacity planning for IT Infrastructure
• Must be the custodian of the group norms and policies respect: Use only Business applications/MIS services compliant with AGL IT catalogue
• Apply AGL security and licensing policies
• Manage IT Infrastructure related contracts and SLA: Review supplier's contracts making sure they are in accordance with AGL requirements, meeting our expectations. Eventually apply the penalties for non-compliancy.
• Maintain and update documentation of procedures and configurations
• Ensure IT Infrastructure management is compliant with ISO processes, ITIL processes and QHSE processes.
• Techno watch, anticipate new technologies

QUALIFICATIONS
• Master Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
• Management of operations on virtualized and distributed infrastructures,
• Management of operations on environment with clustering, replication, load balancer
• ITIL Practitioner (V3) / ITIL Specialist (V4)
• Strong knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory environment is an added advantage
• Windows Server: Advanced level
• Knowledge in network/telecom (Cisco certifications appreciated)
• vCenter or HyperV or Azure: Advanced level
• Knowledge in IBM AS/400 environment would be a “plus”
• Network foundation or intermediate,
• ISO 27000, other IT security Training
• Prince2, PMP or equivalence – Advantage
• MS AZURE Domain, InTune

EXPERIENCE
• 7 to 13 years relevant experience in IT
• Minimum 8 years' experience in supporting and maintaining Microsoft Systems and Networks.
o Microsoft Server 2016 2019 and 2022
o Microsoft SQL (MSSQL)
o IIS
o Remote Desktop Services
o WSUS, PowerShell, MS Azure
o Fortinet Fortigate Firewalling
o TCP routing, switching and networking , subnetting
o Cisco/Dell/Aruba network management
• Minimum 7 years' experience in supporting and maintaining VMWare systems (6.7) or equivalent.
o Templates
o VCenter
o Update manager
o Clusters / Data Centres
o V7.0 is advantageous
• Ability to Manage a Technical Project
• Experienced in working within Large Corporate Environments
• ITSM solution on the market,
• Collaborative solution.
