Job description

Mission Description                      

Job Purpose:
This operational admin role will be responsible for assisting and building relationships with transport service providers as well as administrational support in South Africa and along the Durban corridor.

 

Profile

Job Function:
• Maintain operational relationships with suppliers which include admin assistance and negotiation to ensure:
o Establishment of focal point for suppliers
o Effective management of contracts and limits of liabilities in conjunction with legal
o Consistent quotations.
o Ensure standardisation of operating procedures with suppliers.
o Ensure compliance with AGL requirements.
o Monitor supplier performance.
• Escalate/alert management of any interesting / relevant market supplier information or any dysfunction.
• Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager

Competencies required:

• Pro-active, aggressive, result oriented, attentive to detail, team player.
• Strong communication with excellent English proficiency.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts on internal and external matters at operations level.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Matric
• Degree in Logistics or equivalent
• 5 years' relevant experience in freight forwarding covering import/export and cross trade for air, road and sea cargo
• Proficiency in MS Office and transport management systems (TMS)
• Valid driver's licence
• Willingness to travel as needed to manage supplier relationships
