Mission Description                      

Role Overview
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, including Reach Stackers, Terminal Tractors, Empty Handlers, and diesel engines. Your goal will be to minimize downtime, ensure equipment meets all safety standards, and operate according to manufacturer specifications.

 

Profile

Key Responsibilities
• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Inspect heavy-duty equipment, use diagnostic tools, and test-drive vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Repairs & Overhauls: Repair and replace damaged or worn-out parts, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and steering mechanisms.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine servicing such as oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements to prevent equipment breakdowns.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed work orders, inspection logs, and maintenance records.
• Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols.
• Shop Upkeep: Keep the workshop organized, clean, and safe for all team members.
Qualifications & Experience
• Education/Certification: High school certificate/diploma or equivalent; completion of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic apprenticeship program or Mechanical Engineering Certificate/Diploma/Degree.
• Experience: [e.g., 3-5] years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty equipment.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic schematics.
