Job description

FLEET PLANNER M/F

Full time

Mission Description                      

In our Nairobi Transport Department and reporting to the Fleet Manager.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas: -

1. Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly fleet schedules in line with operational demands.
2. Assign vehicles and drivers to routes, ensuring compliance with driver hours, rest regulations, and customer service requirements.
3. Monitor fleet utilization to maximize productivity and reduce downtime.
4. Coordinate with operations teams to align dispatch and delivery plans.
5. Use fleet management systems to track vehicle availability, location, and performance.
6. Monitor fuel usage, trip efficiency, and route optimization to control costs.
7. Maintain accurate records of planned vs. actual trips and investigate variances.
8. Support contingency planning in case of breakdowns, delays, or emergencies.
9. Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits, and internal policies when scheduling.
10.Generate planning and performance reports for management review

 

Profile

1. Diploma in Business studies
2.Diploma in Transport and Logistics
3. 1 year experience working in Transport & Logistics Company or C & F.
