Mission description
Assist companies that import or export products to stay in compliance within the customs law.
Profile
Job Function:
• Experience framing customs entries, both imports and exports on all modes
• Responsible to ensure that correct imports documentation is in place before
clearance (Clearing instructions; Transport documents/Manifest; commercial
invoice; packing list etc.)
• Must possess a good knowledge and understanding of SADC and EU Trade
Agreements
• Responsible to ensure that proper Customs Valuation procedures are followed
to avoid PCI penalties and application of customs valuation and
determination.
• Needs to have an excellent knowledge of Inco-terms
• Responsible to advise clients on various Imports requirements like Letter of
Origins, Imports Permits etc.
• An excellent knowledge of the geography of International trade is required
• Able to resolve all Stops and detentions
• Responsible to frame customs entries; for all modes of transport
• Responsible to ensure customs compliance
• Responsible for refunds
• Responsible to handle Stops and detains
• Responsible to manage physical examinations
• Day to day office administration
• To be fully aware of and comply with current responsibilities and requirements
of the relevant Acts, Regulations and standard applicable Quality, Health and
Safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
• Report all hazards, incidents, and injuries in accordance with legislation and
company reporting procedures.
• Participate in programs and assessments to improve IMS system in the
workplace.
• Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting
manager.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Grade 12
• Computer Literacy
• 3 years + experience in a Customs role or similar
• Must have a good knowledge of Customs Tariff headings and classification
• Knowledge of Compu-Clearing/ CargoWise
