Mission description
SALS, part of Africa Global Logistics (AGL), is seeking a Commercial Manager to monitor and implement the overall commercial policy for AGL's entities in Sierra Leone. This is an ideal role for a proactive, results-oriented Sierra Leonean professional with a solid commercial background, including experience in transport, logistics, supply chain, and project management. The Commercial Manager will drive business development, manage customer relationships, and oversee the execution of commercial strategies.
Key Responsibilities
•Commercial Policy Management: Monitor and enforce the overall commercial policy for AGL Entities in Sierra Leone.
•Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, project partners, and government entities to ensure alignment and compliance with commercial policies.
•Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities in industrial, logistics, and related sectors.
•Customer Relations: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
•Bid & Tender Management: Lead and manage the preparation and submission of competitive bids and tenders, ensuring profitability and strategic alignment.
•Reporting: Regularly report on commercial performance, market trends, and project updates to senior management.
Profile
•Bachelor's degree in business management, Commerce, or a related field. A master's in business administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.
•At least 5 years of experience in a commercial management role, preferably in transport, logistics and supply chain or related fields.
•Demonstrates experience in managing commercial aspects of projects, including bid preparation, contract management, and client engagement.
•Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and work across multiple entities.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
•Solid analytical skills for identifying market opportunities and trends to drive business growth.
•Proficient in CRM tools and business software (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Ability to negotiate favourable terms and manage contracts to ensure profitability.
