Mission Description                      

General:
The Warehouse Manager for Afungi Base, reports to Logistics Manager and he is responsible for the effective management, control, and optimization of warehouse operations at the Afungi base. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant handling of materials, equipment, and consumables in support of operational and project requirements

Detail of the specific tasks:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Plan, organize, and oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, issuing, and dispatch of materials.
• Ensure proper layout, labeling, and storage methods to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate stock control and inventory records using ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with procurement, transport, and operations teams.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment in line with operational demands.
• Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Control obsolete, slow-moving, or damaged stock in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure full compliance with HSSE policies, procedures, and local regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture within the warehouse team.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and proper use of PPE.
• Maintain warehouse security and prevent loss, damage, or theft of materials.
• Supervise, train, and develop warehouse personnel, including storekeepers and forklift operators.
• Allocate tasks, manage work schedules, and monitor performance.
• Ensure discipline and compliance with company rules and procedures.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory levels, warehouse performance, and key KPIs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
• Support internal and external audits related to warehouse operations.

 

Profile

Qualifications & Experience:
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–8 years' experience in warehouse management, preferably in a remote or project-based environment.
• Proven experience managing large inventories and teams.
• Experience in industrial, construction, mining, or oil & gas environments is an advantage.
• Knowleadge of QHSE procedures.

Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control best practices.
• Familiar with the Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight operational deadlines.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English; Portuguese is a strong advantage.

Experience Requirements:
• 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role is highly desirable.
• Experience with inventory control, shipping/receiving, and safety procedures.

Working Conditions
• The position is based at Afungi Base, with the possibility of extended working hours depending on operational requirements.
• B/B rotational regime (28 days on duty followed by 28 days off duty).
• Flight tickets to and from Afungi will be covered by the Client.
• Transport, accommodation and meals on site will be provided and covered by the Client.
• The employee is required to comply with and follow all Client procedures and regulations while on site.
