FREIGHT FORWARDING OPERATIONS Sea Freight Export Controller M/F

Job Purpose:Overseeing and coordinating sea freight exports shipments
Job Function: • Receive documents from client/office and arrange bookings with the relevant shipping lines or Co-Loaders• All LCL Shipments to be booked via our own console through Africa Global Logistics office• Maintain strong communication and keep the client updated on a regular basis with vessel sailing details. Do status reports.• Follow up with the client or warehouse regarding packing of the container (depending on the agreement) once shipment is released from customs• Local handling files, ensure shipments are cleared through customs and follow up with customs on the final release of documents. Ensure bills of lading and cargo dues are done.• Request invoices from service providers and negotiate the best possible rates. Minimise losses on files.• Ensuring that 3rd party invoices are checked and billed out correctly• Ensure files are invoiced within 24/48hrs from date of sailing• Ensure all queries are attended to within 48 hours• Ensure all mails are attended to within 24 hours• Pre capture file once it is registered• Arranging transport for deliveries of shipments, collection from client in SA to destination onhazardous and non-hazardous cargo• File all documents related to shipments• Escalating all problems or potential problems to supervisor/managerMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:• Matric• 1-5 years' relevant experience in the Freight Industry
