Mission Description                      

Job Purpose:

To support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems within AGL operations. The role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe working environment and minimizing environmental impacts.

Job Function:
Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety:
• Monitor and enforce safety standards and safe work practices in operations including cargo handling, loading/unloading, and equipment operations.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in incident/accident investigations and prepare reports with root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, training sessions, and awareness campaigns.
Environmental Management:
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations applicable to AGL operations, including waste management, spill prevention and emissions control.
• Conduct environmental risk assessments and assist in the development of environmental management plans (EMPs).
• Monitor environmental aspects such as stormwater runoff, air emissions, and noise, and maintain related records and reports.
• Support emergency response planning for environmental incidents (e.g., oil spills).
Compliance & Reporting:
• Ensure all QHSE documentation is maintained in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Assist with internal and external audits and follow-up on corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain records for legal and regulatory reporting related to safety and environment.

 

Profile

Quality Management:
• Support the implementation of Quality Management Procedures within the entity.
• Monitor compliance of site activities with quality management rules and procedures.
• Track and follow up on quality performance indicators, non-conformities, corrective actions, and improvement plans.
• Monitor and help coordinate the local customer complaint handling process, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Support management in gathering data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and help track progress.
• Assist in preparing for internal and third-party audits, and help coordinate logistics and documentation.
• Help identify training needs related to quality management within the entity and support training coordination.
• Support the QHSE Manager in liaising with certification bodies during audits or follow-ups.
• Draft or update quality-related procedures under supervision, and ensure their proper communication and distribution.
• Conduct site-level checks to verify compliance with established quality procedures.
• Participate in quality control checks on operations, documentation, services, and adherence to internal rules.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with contractual requirements, legislation, standards, and customer specifications.
• Report on process inefficiencies and assist in root cause analysis and improvement proposals.
• Support continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing service quality.
• Contribute to the application and communication of the quality policy and culture within the entity.
• Promote awareness of quality management practices and procedures to staff.
• Provide regular feedback and reporting to the QHSE Manager.
• Carry out quality-related tasks and assignments as requested by management.

Training & Communication:
• Assist in developing and delivering safety and environmental training programs to employees and contractors.
• Support the implementation of Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) initiatives across AGL operations.




Delegation and Authority:
• Report to the QHSE Manager on QHSE issues affecting site operations.
• Intervene or raise alerts in case of inappropriate, unsafe, or non-compliant activities.
• Assist in protecting the health and safety of people, property, and the environment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in Health, Safety, Environment, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a QHSE role within the logistics operations.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, ISO standards (9001, 14001 & 45001).
• Certified Internal Auditor (preferred).
• Experience in pharmaceutical product handling (preferred)
• Experience in incident investigation techniques (e.g. 5-WHY, Fishbone, FMEA ).
