Mission description
Job Purpose:
The Inbound Corridor Control Tower Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the real-time tracking, monitoring, and operational efficiency of freight movements along the inbound corridor. This role ensures compliance with delivery schedules, optimizes route performance, mitigates risks, and enhances visibility for all stakeholders.
Ultimately, the purpose of this function is to enhance the customer experience by proactively anticipating and mitigating any service delivery challenges.
Job Function:
1. Monitoring & Tracking:
• Supervise real-time tracking of vehicles moving inbound to ensure adherence
to schedules and commitments.
• Monitor corridor allocations, speed of loading / speed of dispatch / speed of
offloading / dwell times.
• Monitor route deviations, delays, and potential disruptions.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing by the respective Corridor teams to the
control tower.
• Monitor and co-ordinate the timeous loading activities at the mine-site.
2. Operational Coordination:
• Coordinate with cross-border teams to resolve any delays.
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders regarding delivery statuses.
• Liaise with customs clearance teams to expedite border crossing processes.

3. Performance & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety policies, and SOPs with
the relevant corridor office
• Implement corrective measures for non-compliant drivers or transport service
providers with relevant corridor office.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews on transport efficiency and route
optimization.
4. Incident & Risk Management:
• Respond to and manage breakdowns, accidents, and security threats along
the corridor with the relevant corridor office
• Escalate major incidents to senior management and relevant customers.
• Maintain records of all incidents and propose preventative measures.
5. Reporting & Analytics:
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on route performance and delays.
• Analyze trends and recommend improvements to transport efficiency.
• Maintain accurate status updates.
• Set-up monthly review meetings with customers to review statistics and data.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in transport management systems
• Knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Matric
• Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, or related
field.
• 5 years' experience in freight forwarding covering transport control, fleet
monitoring or logistics operations
• Experience in cross-border logistics and customs procedures is advantageous
