Job description

Mission Description                      

Job Purpose:
The Customer Solution Controller is responsible for the day-to-day execution of customer and operational control activities within AGL Namibia. The role ensures that customer operational data, customer orders, costing information, and customer-specific SOP requirements are complete, accurate, and controlled before transactions progress through the operational process. The incumbent provides operational monitoring, identifies exceptions, coordinates resolution, and supplies reliable operational information to support operational excellence and customer service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Order and Costing Control
• Verify that customer orders contain all required information before progressing through the operational process.
• Review customer instructions, shipment details, and service requirements for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor order progression and follow up on stalled, ageing, or incomplete transactions.
• Perform costing validations using approved rates, customer instructions, quantities, and operational information.
• Identify and resolve costing discrepancies, missing charges, duplicate charges, and unusual variances.
• Apply approved rates and costing rules in line with company governance requirements.
• Escalate rate discrepancies, commercial exceptions, and outdated rates where necessary.
• Maintain an exception register and actively track outstanding issues through to resolution.
Operational Data Control
• Maintain accurate customer, shipment, order, and operational master data.
• Perform routine data quality checks to identify incomplete, duplicated, inconsistent, or inaccurate information.
• Verify operational information against source documentation, customer requirements, contracts, and SOPs.
• Coordinate the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data and maintain appropriate audit trails.
• Monitor outstanding jobs and follow up with responsible operational teams.
• Ensure customer-specific operational requirements are accurately reflected in operational records.
• Escalate critical, overdue, or high-impact issues to the relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and control over customer and operational information.
Operational Reporting
• Maintain operational dashboards, exception trackers, and reporting tools.
• Monitor turnaround times and identify transactions approaching or exceeding agreed service levels.
• Escalate recurring failures, operational trends, and customer-impacting exceptions.
• Follow up on outstanding actions and update exception records until closure.
• Provide accurate information and supporting data for management reporting.
• Maintain reliable records to support audits, customer reviews, process reviews, and corrective action investigations.

 

Profile

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Three (3) experience in logistics operations, customer service, operational control, data administration or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of customer order processes, operational data and basic costing controls.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with good data-analysis skills.
• Experience with ERP, transport-management, shipping or operational systems is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and exceptions.
• Strong communication, coordination, follow-up and problem-solving skills
