Job description

Mission Description                      

The Commercial Pricing Apprentice supports the Commercial team in developing accurate and competitive pricing solutions for logistics services.
The role provides hands-on exposure to preparing quotations, analysing supplier and operational costs, maintaining pricing information and supporting commercial proposals. Through structured learning and practical involvement, the apprentice will develop an understanding of how pricing, cost analysis and margin management contribute to profitability, customer solutions and business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support the preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for logistics services.
•Assist in collecting and analysing supplier rates, operational costs and other pricing inputs.
•Coordinate with internal teams and service providers to obtain timely and accurate cost information.
•Maintain and update pricing models, rate sheets, quotation records and related commercial information.
•Support margin analysis and pricing reviews to help ensure proposed rates are commercially viable.
•Assist the Commercial team with pricing for client proposals, tenders and new business opportunities.
•Compare available pricing options and highlight cost or rate differences for review by the supervising team.
•Maintain organised and accurate records of quotations, supplier rates and supporting pricing documentation.
•Work closely with Commercial and Operations teams to support timely responses to pricing requests.
•Support the preparation of basic pricing reports and analysis for commercial decision-making.
•Carry out other related learning assignments and duties as may reasonably be assigned within the Commercial function.

 

Profile

•Recent graduate with a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Marketing or another relevant field.
•At the start of their career and seeking practical, hands-on experience in a commercial and logistics environment.
•Genuine interest in logistics, commercial activities, pricing and operations.
•Strong numerical and analytical ability with good attention to detail.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proactive, organised, curious and willing to learn.
•Able to work with multiple stakeholders and follow through on assigned tasks.
•Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is an advantage.
